Patti Raward - Lawyer
Patti is a senior lawyer who has a law degree from the University of Queensland. Patti’s main area of work is succession law, covering the administration of deceased estates, estate litigation, wills and enduring powers of attorney in both Queensland and New South Wales.

       
Jodie Mills - Lawyer
Jodie holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queensland University of Technology. Jodie commenced practice in commercial law where she experienced a wide range of commercial transactions including franchising, conveyancing, intellectual property, business purchases and sales all of which now provide Jodie with the ability to assess all of her clients’ needs when discussing business structuring and estate planning issues.

       

Yuko Harding – Lawyer
Yuko holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Bond University. Yuko has been generally working on issues of a contractual or commercial nature, including property law, such as leasing and conveyancing. Yuko is an Australian qualified Japanese Lawyer and has been writing columns for the Japanese newspapers in Queensland and contributing to assist the Japanese community in South East Queensland.

       
Andrea Ng - Paralegal
Andrea is a paralegal and her principal areas of practise cover identifying issues surrounding the structuring of wills and the identification of other asset and/or estate planning needs which arise from those issues. Andrea also works with the other members of the team in a support capacity for the production and drafting of documents.

       
Ann Butters - Paralegal
Ann works closely with our lawyers in all aspects of estate planning and structuring. Ann also works with the other members of the team in a support capacity for the production and drafting of documents.

       
Denise Prasser – Paralegal
Denise is a paralegal also working in the estate planning and structuring department of the firm. She brings to her role a multitude of skills and experience from participating in different industries and provides support to her team in the production of documents.

Debra Gruszka – Accredited Specialist in Property Law
As well as being a Senior Solicitor at Small Myers Hughes, Debra is a NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Property Law and has had over 23 years experience in this field. Debra has an academic background not only in law, but has gained degrees in both in Education (with a major in mathematics) and Accountancy with honours. These disciplines aid Debra in assisting her clients in many of their Business and Commercial transactions.

Debra’s work includes advising on business and property matters, commercial conveyancing, development projects, general commercial transactions and commercial leasing. She also has a broad knowledge of other areas of law and is able to identify issues that can assist businesses with their many needs.

       

Kirsty Thomas - Lawyer
Kirsty graduated from the University of Queensland Law School with honours. She specialises in Management Rights, Business Contracts and general commercial transactions in both Queensland and New South Wales.

Kirsty also completed a Bachelor of Business, giving her valuable background knowledge for advising clients on the establishment and successful operation of their businesses.

       
Helen Hillier - Lawyer
Helen has completed degrees in law and business at Queensland University of Technology and practices exclusively in management rights.

Helen is familiar with Strata and Body Corporate legislation in both New South Wales and Queensland and can assist clients in all areas of their management rights businesses including sales and purchases.

       
Jarad Maher – Law Clerk
Graduating from Griffith University Law School with honours, Jarad holds degrees in law and business and is currently undertaking a Diploma in Legal Practice. Jarad primarily works in the area of Body Corporate and Property Law providing support to our lawyers and assisting with research.

       
Tom Williams – Law Clerk
Tom is currently finalising his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Business degree at Griffith University. Tom primarily works in the area of body corporate and property law and provides support to other members of the team and assists with research.

       
Julie Schutt – Conveyancing Paralegal
Julie is our senior conveyancing paralegal with 20 years experience in the residential and commercial conveyancing fields in both Queensland and New South Wales.

Julie is highly regarded by both her clients and her peers and is a valuable member of the property and commercial law team.

       
Kirsty Beadel - Paralegal
Kirsty supports our Lawyers in their day to day work in the areas of conveyancing, body corporate and management rights, whilst undertaking the rigours of training to be a proficient and talented conveyancing paralegal.

       

FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS LAW

       
Wendy Miller – Accredit Specialist in Family Law
Formerly a nursing educator, Wendy has degrees in both law and arts and a master of laws. She has been a lawyer since 1992, practising exclusively in family law since 1996 and she is an accredited family law specialist.

With an interest in tax, asset protection and estate planning, Wendy assists clients in the planning of their future financial affairs in the most tax effective and productive way.

       
Craig Nicol - Lawyer
With an honours law degree from Griffith University, Craig has experience in all family law and de facto relationship matters.
He is known for his initiative in resolving disputes and his co-operation with counsellors, accountants and other lawyers to achieve the best results for his clients.

A volunteer at local legal advice centres, Craig is also an award-winning playwright.

       
Benjamin Shaw - Lawyer
Ben completed his Law degree at the University of Queensland and has future aspirations to become a barrister specialising in family law.

Ben works with the other lawyers in the Family Law Department, assisting them with all aspects of our clients’ cases and also undertaking legal research for the group.

Kylie Varley is our Accounts Manager. Kylie has worked in the accounting side of law firms for in excess of 15 years. Kylie is currently completing a Bachelor of Business at the University of Southern Queensland
